Can I just walk in?
We are a private studio that is appointment only for everything to guarantee everyone is taken care of equally. Appointments are not only for piercings and tattoos but also for fitting new jewelry to your piercings and making sure everything fits properly.
Can I be pierced with a ring?
We normally do not pierce with rings. Having a fresh piercing with a ring can have trouble from the start with all the movement it can have. The initial ring is always thicker and larger in diameter to start as well. If you start off a fresh piercing with a thin ring, you do risk cutting the piercing. Some piercings such as a septum and daith piercing can make an exception. Those piercings require only a ring.
I think my piercing is infected. What do I do?
Most of the time it’s just irritation. Bumps or bubbles are irritation. Hitting / bumping your piercing can bother it. Sleeping on it or getting hair tangled around your jewelry can cause trauma. Too much moisture build up can be an issue as well. Maybe your aftercare is not working out for you. The quality of your jewelry and piercing are a huge factor. If you are worried about your piercing and things aren’t getting better, reach out to your piercer or us at Limbo. You can also go ahead and read our aftercare for our instructions.
When do I need to downsize my jewelry?
We always encourage checkup appointments to check the progress of your piercing. Downsizing is when we replace the backing you were pierced with in the beginning, to a new back piece that is more fitted. This prevents movement and helps in the healing process. This will allow the piercing to not get caught and snagged on things. Placements like flat or helix piercings, should be downsized in 4-6 weeks to be sure the piercing heals at a the proper angle. Once your piercing has shifted angles, it is very difficult, if not impossible for it to straighten back out and usually requires removal of the piercing. Oral piercings also require downsizing to prevent tooth and gum damage. Those piercing can be downsized with in the first month most times.
Can I go swimming after I get pierced?
We do not want your piercings to be submerged in water for about 6 to 8 weeks. That includes a pool, the bath, lakes, hot tubs, and even ocean water. Nipple and navel piercings We would recommend not submerging those piercings for at-least 6 to 8 months.
Can I bring my own jewelry to wear?
We do not pierce with outside jewelry. If you desire to be pierced with a particular piece you can get ahold of the shop by phone or email and we can plan to order a piece perfect for what you would like and how you would like it. If you have something from home you need help changing into a pre-existing piercing, the jewelry will have to be looked at and discussed about before installing. I wouldn’t want poor quality jewelry to hurt your piercing.
How much money should i prepare to bring with me?
Currently our minimum for tattoos is $80 , or $150 an hour.
For piercings it varies with what jewelry you choose. We have high quality gold and titanium and glass with everything being the same great quality. For a single piercing your total could cost around $60, for two you could spend around $120. But we can shop and easily work with a budget.
